Apostle Dr. A.P. Barker
Biography

A lifetime of ministry, education, and community.

Dr. Barker accepted her calling as Pastor in the early 1980s and was ordained by the Full Gospel Association. She established Faith Tabernacle WORLD Ministries in the greater Seattle area with a vision to spread the uncompromising gospel.

She began her education at the American Institute of Banking, Highline and Seattle Central Community Colleges, and continued at Western Washington University, Seattle University, and the Bishop A.L. Hardy Academy of Theology — where she received the President's Award in 2006 and earned her Doctorate of Religious Education in 2007. In 2008 she earned her ThD and Christian Teaching Certificate.

Dr. Barker holds numerous titles: certified IN-MED facilitator, notary public, Washington State registered counselor, and author of gospel booklets and songs. She has been a foster parent for over 25 years through Loving Hands, and founded Hand In Hand Community Development to educate and resource her community.

Her ministry extends internationally — with partnerships in Jamaica, an orphanage in Mexico, and five villages in Senegal, West Africa. Recognized by President Clinton as one of the first inner-city AmeriCorp members, Dr. Barker has testified before the State Legislature on foster care reform.

“I am called to preach the Gospel everywhere.”
